BOTH TRADITIONAL AND NEW & "INVISIBLE" OPTIONS FOR STRAIGHTENING CROOKED TEETH, AND IMPROVE THE AESTHETICS OF YOUR TEETH.
Orthodontics is a technique that aims to correct dental malposition. There are several types of orthodontic treatments that may apply depending on each case: conventional fixed orthodontics ether self-ligating braces or aesthetic, and invisible orthodontics, either with a transparent removable prosthesis or by the lingual technique.
The invisible orthodontics consists of a series of removable and invisible aligners manufactured out of transparent plastic material, custom made for each patient. These aligners are used to correct the position of the teeth. Each aligner is slightly different from the previous one, as they introduce slight modifications to move the teeth gradually into the desired position.
Undoubtedly, the main advantage offered by this system is the aesthetics. It is almost invisible. The aligners are not only transparent, but are removable. Although they should be used all day except for when you are eating and brushing your teeth, you can remove them for special occasions like job interviews, meetings, weddings; or whenever you desire. You will not have to change your daily habits and you can eat and drink normally. The aligners apply very mild and controlled forces. It involves no wires, and you spend less time in the revision/check up sessions. These revisions will be more spaced out, having to visit the clinic much fewer times than with other aligning options. All of this, makes it a very convenient and confortable method.
For this treatment we use the most modern 3D technology in the market with specialized software that allows us to see the end result and the treatment time.
Brackets on the outside or on the inside? Now you decide. If you worry about the aesthetics and you are considering a system of fixed orthodontic, the lingual braces system is your solution.
This method consists on placing braces on the inner face of the tooth (the side you cannot see) allowing for an invisible solution. It is perfect for people who don’t want the braces to be seen. This revolutionary design enables reliable and confortable treatments, as each set of braces is tailored to the patient.
This method represent a radical advance over the other brace systems used nowadays ensuring top quality end the best final result. This next-generation system also uses computer planning, improving the quality of results and reducing treatment time.
Recent advances in orthodontics allow traditional orthodontic treatments to become more aesthetic. They developed aesthetic brackets as an alternative to metal braces.
Orthodontic treatment can last 12, 18, 24 or 30 months depending on the movements the teeth needs to go through in the alveolar bone, always respecting the biology of each patient. However, slight malposition may only require a few months to be corrected. The total treatment time will depend on the severity of the problem, the patient's anatomy and the collaboration between patient and dentist.
Once treatment is completed, it is necessary to use a retainer, either fixed on the inner side of teeth or a removable retainer for night use only. This is essential to prevent the teeth from moving back into their original position. To be able to make a good diagnosis to plan over time and to know what will happen step by step, the orthodontist will have to take pictures, and x-ray or study models to be able to determine the best treatment and communicate with the client what the best treatment option consists in.
We should take into account that despite thorough planning and testing, treatment time also depends of the collaboration of the patient and to the response of the teeth to the treatment. Participating and going to all appointments settled by the specialist, is a key point to guarantee success.
